Midnight Cherries

In ‚Midnight Cherries‘, Sara Mayoral presents a suspended installation that questions the illusion of endless abundance in the context of ecological collapse. Organic and synthetic materials form fragmented words-sol, loss, soll-letters that hover between language and sound, resisting fixed meaning.

The elements appear detached from natural cycles: fruit ripens without soil, without seasons, without visible decay. The installation becomes a quiet metaphor for interrupted systems-ecological, emotional, and linguistic.

Shadows cast on the wall echo the forms above, like visual distortions of a sound, extending the reflection into a more elusive, atmospheric register. Without resorting to nostalgia, ‚Midnight Cherries‘ offers a clear-eyed meditation on the fragility of communication and the contradictions of our time.
